QERB Energy is working in partnership with Teignbridge District Council and EDF Energy to provide and install 4kW Solar PV systems to qualifying homes in their district.

To qualify, your Household net income (after Tax NIS) is less than £25,000 for a single applicant, or £30,000 for a household with two adults, or you are either aged over 60 or pregnant or have a child under 5, or someone in your household must be in receipt of one of the listed qualifying benefits, and your home must be heated via electric, for example Electric Storage Heaters, Electric Room Heaters or an Electric Boiler.
In order to access the full grant, your roof must be able to hold 12 panels, face approx South and not be shaded. If your roof faces a different direction or can only fit a smaller number of panels, we will still be able to provide a grant, but it may not cover the full install cost.

Qualifying benefits:
  • Child Tax Credit, Working Tax Credit or Child Benefit
  • Pension Guarantee Credit
  • Universal Credit, Income based JSA or ESA or Income Support
  • DLA, PIP, Carer or Attendance Allowance
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment or War Pensions Mobility Supplement

Teignbridge District Council are able to qualify customers who do not meet the above criteria as per the below.

Solar Grant Application

Teignbridge District Council actively participate in the provision of ECO grant approvals for residents within their district. There is no admin fee charged by Teignbridge District Council to approve an application.

The following criteria will allow Teignbridge District Council to approve an applicant for an ECO grant. One of these must apply.

1. Fuel Poor Households.

Household net income (after Tax NIS) is less than £25,000 for a single applicant, or £30,000 for a household with two adults, and the EPC Rating is D or below (where there is no EPC we can assess the property against a list of criteria or produce an EPC). 

2. Are aged 60 or over.

3. Have a child under 5 or are pregnant.

2.  Low Income & Vulnerable to the cold.

Households who have health conditions sensitive to the cold/damp will be eligible. These are:

Respiratory (ie asthma, COPD), Cardiovascular disease (ie heart disease), Mental Health (ie Schizophrenia, bipolar), Dementia, Cancer, Limited Mobility, Autoimmune, & Immunodeficiency (ie lupus, MS, diabetes, HIV), Neurobiological (ie Fibromyalgia, ME), Haemoglobinopathies (ie sickle sell, Thalassaemia) and severe learning disabilities.
