Houses built before 1990 may not have good quality wall insulation, with many homes having none at all! With about a third of all heat loss escaping through the walls according to the Energy Saving Trust, this can be quite a problem for your home…

By simply having quality insulation properly installed into your cavity walls, you can make savings of up to £250 per year in heating bills!

Top Quality EPS Bead Insulation
The only cavity wall insulation we install is EPS (expanded polystyrene) beads – also referred to as blown beads because they are blown into the cavity at high pressure.

We believe EPS beads are the best material for cavity wall insulation available today. They are more thermally efficient and long-lasting than fibre or foam, which means they are also more cost-effective. In addition they are suitable for installation in a much wider range of properties.
An EPS bead is simply a tiny sphere of polystyrene that is 98% air. It’s this air that gives the beads their outstanding thermal properties.

EPS beads do not deteriorate and, because of their shape, allow water to flow downwards. Therefore, any moisture that does enter the cavity after the beads have been installed will simply drain away to the ground. (If fibre insulation gets wet it will act like a sponge, drawing the water across the cavity and holding it against your walls).

Quick & Professional Installation
We install EPS bead insulation using a thermascopic bead lance that can extend up to 7.3 metres in length. This means we can reach previously inaccessible walls without any need for scaffolding or other access equipment.

Less interruption to you and your home
Using the lance to install EPS beads also means we need to drill smaller and fewer holes. A typical semi-detached house will only require 12 holes (4 per elevation) compared to 48 for fibre (16 per elevation). In addition, because the lance is inserted along the inside of a cavity, we drill the holes at the side of the property so there is no need to drill into the face of the wall.

We blow the beads into the wall along with an adhesive. When the beads have settled and filled the cavity the adhesive will dry and form a solid mass. However, as the beads are spheres there are still tiny air pockets that allow moisture to drain away and the cavity to breathe. Because it’s so easy to install EPS beads, we can usually complete the work on your home in just a few hours.

Previously had Cavity Wall insulation installed badly?
Cavity walls are designed to prevent water penetrating the internal walls of your home. The air space between the inner and outer walls allows any water that does get in to drain down to the footings. Any debris can form a bridge that carries moisture across to the interior of the house, which in time will cause penetrating damp and mould. If you are experiencing this problem from badly installed insulation, speak to us about cleaning the cavities and replacing with EPS.

Annual fuel savings for Mains Gas homes with Cavity Wall Insulation

Savings are provide by the Energy Savings Trust and are based on mains gas fuelled homes. If you home is heated by Electric, LPG or Oil, your costs savings will be greater.
If you qualify for Cavity Wall Insulation, we can also check if you qualify for other insulation such as Loft and Underfloor at the same time to achieve even greater savings. You may also qualify for new heating or solar panels!

ECO Grant standard qualification criteria

ECO Grants are available to anyone that meets one of the following criteria, no matter where you live in the UK. Grants are subject to conditions related to your property type and residency and can also vary from time to time.

Once you know if you qualify for an ECO grant, through either the standard qualification criteria or via a Local Authority approval, you can check read more about the full list of available grants.

Local Authority grant approvals

In addition to the range of Benefit based criteria, we are also able to gain approval from various Local Authorities to approve an ECO grant. Each Local Authority has its own set list of qualification criteria, which includes an income based option. Please check the list below for full details of each Local Authority.
